THERMAL INSULATION OF THE CEILING
For this purpose we use a Canadian system of thermal insulation with
GAMO foam.
There are two methods of thermal insulation of the ceiling: from below
or from above.
When insulating the ceiling from below, first, the frame
is mounted on the ceiling, then, thermal foam is sprayed and the finishing
material for the ceiling (gypsum plasterboards, etc.) is fastened to the
frame. If the finishing is not required in the premises, the thermal foam
may be left uncovered. In this case, the frame is not mounted on the ceiling
before the thermal insulation works are performed. The thermal foam itself
does not require any covering or other protection. It
|
must only be protected from a longterm exposure
to direct sunlight.
The method from above may be applied to thermally insulate
wooden floor structures during their installation only, while other types
of floor structures may be thermally insulated by this method after they
have been installed. When installing wooden floor structures the finishing
material (gypsum plasterboards, etc.) is fastened to the beams from below.
Then the desired layer of thermal foam is spayed on it from the top side,
laying the flooring of the upper floor onto the beams from above. When
insulating an already installed floor structure, it is covered with mudsills.
Then a layer of thermal foam of the desired thickness is sprayed between
them and flooring is laid on the top.
It is recommended to thermally insulate the ceiling with a foam layer
of 15 cm thickness.

Advantages:
• there is no need of any insulation films;
• the foam prevents warm air from leaking through the insulated structure,
increasing efficiency of insulation to the maximum;
• the work is not time consuming;
• the foam hardens within 30 seconds, so it can be covered with finishing
materials almost at once;
• even the hardest-to-reach places are insulated;
• very good sound insulation.
We perform thermal insulation works throughout Lithuania and Latvia.
